List 1:

Abdicate, abet, abeyance, abject, abjure, abnegation, abominate

There was once was a minister who lived in such luxury. However, he abetted an underworld don in smuggling ammunition into the country. Soon, it came out in the open and he was forced to abdicate his position. Even though the court order was in abeyance, the public abominated him and his abnegation of wealth and family apart from abjuring from his portfolio landed him in an abject situation.

Abrade, abrogate, abscission, absolve, abstemious, abstruse

Since the poor fellow could not understand the abstruse concept of gravity, the teacher threatened that his not understanding this basic concept is as harmful as an abscission of a live hand which did the fellow no good but abrade his mind. Then he thought that if he would have been Newton he would have abrogated the concept and hence the goodwill of the future generations would have absolved him of this sin. The teacher read his thoughts and could not help but follow an abstemious (also, temperate) diet for the day.
